Why does Eradicator charge an inspection fee?
Typically, when a client reaches out to Eradicator for suspected water damage, mold inspection, mold testing, and/or mold remediation there are a few questions that are asked. Questions such as what is your service coverage area and scheduling information are atop of the list. More than likely they are researching companies to provide a visual inspection and an assessment of the damages to help determine the process and the potential price. While describing our services and processes we advise that we charge a refundable inspection fee that is credited in the proposal price (if they choose to use our services). Some clients may be aware of other companies that also charge an inspection fee to have a mold inspector visit their property while others may ask why is a fee necessary? Each company is different but these are a few reasons why Eradicator Mold Remediation charges a fee.
Cover Expenses incurred
We incur expenses to provide an initial inspection to clients. More so since we cover the entire state an average client may be as far as up to 50 miles away from our headquarters. An inspection fee covers our expenses to provide such service. Expenses include but are not limited to gas and mileage incurred to and from the desired location, time utilized to give you our professional opinion, wages incurred by our mold inspector, and the time it takes to create a proposal of our recommend services needed.
Ensures Fair Pricing
Another aspect of why Eradicator charges an inspection fee is to ensure that we aren’t motivated to oversell or overcharge to recoup expenses incurred. We won’t compromise our integrity by giving you false advice that may work in our favor and we won’t take advantage of the fact that this subject is unfamiliar to you. We won’t guide you to make an emotional decision due to this scenario possibly causing a health concern and/or potential loss of value of your property. Once our mold inspector reviews your concerns they are motivated to give you their honest opinion that is not motivated by sales goals and commissions. Instead they are paid for the time utilized assisting you.
Ensures that the ball is in your court
Another example why we charge an inspection fee occurred from an experience over a decade ago. Looking back, when Eradicator started we had a client that we followed up with and their response was “the ball is in our court, we will contact you when we make a decision.” Even though we landed that opportunity that bit of advice from a client made a memorable impression. No one likes to be forced or rushed to make a decision. An inspection fee ensures that we don’t have to be pushy to close the deal or make us feel as if you owe us for taking the time to assist you. Instead you have paid for all the tools needed to make your decision. We will let you decide if we are the right choice for you to assist with your mold and water damage needs.
Limit those who don’t have a need
Most importantly, Eradicator charges an inspection fee to limit clients who are just “fishing around.” This weeds out individuals that have no true intention of moving forward and more than likely are not a good fit for us. Since we cover a large service area we cannot assist everyone. Ensuring that we are helping clients with dire circumstances as opposed to someone who sees a minor spot on their bathroom ceiling is crucial in ensuring our team is not wasting time and effort. A fee makes it easier for you to decide if it’s worth having us inspect your property. Imagine if we assisted everyone for free how long it would take to get to someone who desperately needs air quality testing to determine if there is airborne mold in their child’s bedroom (that is making them sick).
Eradicator takes pride in the services we provide and we are not in the business of making a profit from charging clients inspection fees. We are aware that incurring an expense before choosing the right service provider is not ideal. To ensure we continue to successfully help those in need for generations to come we need to determine if our services are right for you while also covering our expenses incurred. If you are aware that you need assistance with mold and water damage feel free to contact us. We will ask the right questions and advise of our procedures to help you decide why our services may be right for you.
